I am a firm believer that your portraits should not just remain on your phone or computer. At Julie Kaplan Photography, I have offered wall portraits since I started 25 years ago. Framed portraits, gallery walls, and heirloom albums or folio boxes should be enjoyed every day.
I grew up with exquisitely framed family portraits that hung over our fireplaces and on walls in our family room. It was important for my parents to have the frames blend seamlessly with the interior décor and be of the highest quality.
When I started my own family, I wanted my children’s portraits to be displayed in a gallery wall along my upstairs hall. I had black-and-white portraits framed in black wood frames with white mattes. Downstairs in my living room, I had canvas prints that were either left unframed or framed in shadow boxes. I am also a big fan of metal wall art and acrylic for a modern pop. My clients’ tastes range from classic to contemporary, so I offer many choices of finishes. I source from the most exclusive vendors that are on par with my level of quality.
One of the boutique services I offer is an in-home consultation, where I visit your home before a session. We look at your décor, discuss where you want your artwork to be displayed, and coordinate clothing colors with your interior design. I take precise measurements of several different walls to prepare for both landscape and vertical portraits. Gallery walls can feature frames that are all the same size or vary in size. It is my job, as an expert, to guide you in creating a display that is both beautiful and timeless.
